Job Description
Cultural Reporters will report on the various Korean culture related events and news in and around the New York City area including, but not limited to, traditional performing arts, music, visual arts, K-pop, food, and film. Since its inauguration in 2011, the KCSNY Cultural Reporters program has published over 120 articles and videos and these have been further disseminated to a wider audience through our social media channels in addition to the official KCSNY website. The writings and videos of our Cultural Reporters have accumulated hundreds of thousands of views since the beginning of the program in 2011.

Qualifications

  • Current college or graduate school students who are passionate about Korean culture.


Preferred Skills

  • Strong reporting, researching, writing, and editing skills
  • Ease or familiarity with photography and creating audio/visual content
  • Capable of discussing and informing others about Korean culture
  • Confident in taking initiative and creating relevant and original written and visual materials
  • Readiness to go anywhere on the field


Responsibilities

  • Actively seeking new sources regarding Korean culture in the US
  • Producing written and/or audiovisual materials relevant to Korean culture

Selection Procedures
  • Submit paper applications from March 3rd through March 31st 2014, 5pm EST
  • Those who are invited for the interview round will be notified by April 4th, 2014
  • The final 10 who are selected will be announced by Friday, April 14th, 2014
